[quote]Sounds more fun than it actually was
There were quite a few today, and also young Toks in his flash new Mossie jersey.
Quite why they asked us to get there at 7:30 I don't know as we stood about getting cold for 2 hrs! Was fine as first having a chat with club mates, but then the various levels of dithering by the crew made you think you were on your way, then not, etc, etc.
Clotheswise Phil was a returnee wearing a lovely suit they'd given him that was so shiney an 80s estate agent woudn't wear it
. Complete with overshoes it gave somewhat an ice skater appearance. Simon(?) was given a strangely patterned nylon hoodie for some reason, don't know why as his clothes were muted colours, maybe the wardrobe chap just liked it/him.
Eventually we set off for the city do do circles of a loop in similar peleton fashion as Sylvain describes. Made interesting by all the holes in the road, bollards, skips, builders vehicles. Not sure why they chose these roads as there are plenty similar looking ones without so much crap in the road. All this was 5min ride, 5min stand about for about 40 mins.
Back to base by which point I'd had enough all ready as the crews organisation seemed a bit hit and miss, and I had no desire to stand about bored all day (they said we'd be there until the light went!)
Vented my frustration by blasting home and intervalling the hills. I'll be interested to see if it got any better, maybe my frustration kicked in early as I'd only had 4 hours sleep.
Oh well live and learn, I'm not cut out for a career in filming adverts I know that now.
