Tour de France UK Etape

Here's a thought.....How many of us are riding the genuine article, and any others that may just happen to be riding along the same route at the same time, purely by coincidence

Well, anyway, the thread is "How to get back home?" now that South East trains have banned bikes on that day.

I have got some quotes for hiring a van/minibus to transport bikes/people, but viability depends on numbers.

Please et me know if it's worth pursuing?

You could do what I have done when riding the London to Brighton with Josie:

Drive there and park the car the day before before cycling home.
Ride the event then drive home.
Sorted.

The only snag there is that I have got Ian's graduation at Cambridge on Saturday afternoon  Kids :?:

I didn't book transport back at the time of entering the event - £13 seemed a little steep for a minibus half way home - but the way things are going, looks like I'll have to bite the bullet (or ride home). I emailed the organisers about paying for transport on the day - here's the (cheerless) reply:

"You need to book in advance.

Please send a cheque for £13 payable to Pennine Events Ltd to:

Pennine Events Ltd
Unit 5
Hewitt Business Park
Winstanley Road
Orrell
Lancashire WN5 7XB

Please include a cover note with your name & address."
