Saturday training rides

Postby virek » Thu Oct 23, 2003 12:20 pm

I was just wondering what bits and pieces I need to bring for the sat runs (assuming there is one this sat)? This will be my first outing with the agreeable lot.

Clothing, I'm ok with. Puncture repair 'n stuff - ok. Dosh (it seems it may be spent on cakes if the website feedback is anything to go by) and phone I guess? Oh yeah, my bike.

I'm coming from Sutton, does anyone cycle that way to the station?

Your input much appreciated.

I would say you need to bring the following:

- Rain jacket
- A couple of quid for coffee and cake (depends how hungry you get I suppose)
- If doing long ride I would bring along two water bottles, if don't have energy drink then a dilution of orange juice and water should see you through.
- Two spare inner tubes and leave you puncture repair kit at home, unless you think you are really that unlucky.
- A multitool
- Pump
- If you can manage to bring the Sun with you that would be good, not the newspaper.
- Mobile phone, just in case someone wants to contact you because you will be having so much fun you won't remember to contact anyone else.

Cheers

Hi,

I live in Sutton (Belmont) and will be out as usual on saturday. I have found the best route to Cousldon South is via Banstead roundabout and down into Chipstead Valley Road.

If you want we could ride down together.

Where abouts in Sutton are you?

Phil.

Phil,

I am just off Brighton Road a little further down from the Hospital I guess me riding up towards the "bus station/stand/big red paving bit" would be the best place to meet.

Let me know what time is best to meet and where if this is not suitable.

Many thanks.

C U there.

Hi Mathew,

The best place to meet is at the entrance to Sutton Hospital, Junction of Cotswold road / Brighton Road as we will cycle up Cotswold Road towards Banstead.

I usually leave about 8.30 so if wee meet about 8.35 that will give us plenty of time to get to CSS.

My mobile number is if you want to call.

See you saturday.

Phil.

Phil,

I'll be there, probably about 6:15 to make sure I don't miss you ;-)

Many thanks.

See you tomorrow.
