UK Etape withdrawl

Postby John Parker » Fri Jun 29, 2007 9:10 am

Entry for the UK etape to the highest bidder.

Due to a death in the family I need to go to Scotland this weekend and will not be needing my entry to the London etape.

Therefore, This is the opportunity for someone ghosting the ride to become almost ligit.

If you're interested, please organise an auction among your selves. With the winner pledging the money to a cancer charity of your choice. Thanks.

Return transport was in included when I booked.

Enjoy the ride

Nick,

Most of us are off at 6:30, but I think the plan is that on Sunday we'll all just turn up to go at 6:30 (MrPVT ride up meeting at Beckenham cinema roundabout at 6am) even the odd few with a later slot. The timing chip isn't activated until you cross the pad leaving Greenwich Park, so in theory so long as we all go together and cross the pad we're off - and meet the coincidental ACC riders outside the park. :D

Reading the info pack we are being set off in groups of about 500 at 15 minute intervals, and within that in groups of 60ish riders at 1 minute intervals. I'm sure if we all rolled up together and asked to go as a unit they'd let us.

Not to would be a joke. I know it all sounds like they've got it organised with military precision, but they also say for every rider (5.000+!) to obey all traffic rules. So it doesn't matter how they release people we'll all get caught up together at the first set of lights. :D
