Welcome to the 2007 edition of The Tour of Britain from 9th – 15th September. This year sees the fourth running of the event since its re-establishment in 2004 and an expansion to seven days of exciting racing.
After our work on the Tour de France Grand Depart in London this July, we’re really looking forward to making this the best Tour of Britain yet.
The race visits nine new venues this year, beginning with a Prologue in Crystal Palace, and finishing in Glasgow. The Tour also visits Somerset for the first time, and the riders are sure to remember the climb of Porlock Hill, which features in a testing stage across Exmoor.
Stage Three will also be another day for the climbers, as the race travels from Worcester to Wolverhampton, while the final stage into Glasgow will help showcase the cities ability to host world class sporting events, as they bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be bringing you more information on the route, announcing the teams and riders taking part in this year’s race and providing you with all the information you need to view the nation’s biggest, free to view, sporting event.
There’s nothing to match the exciting crowd atmosphere as a professional cycling race speeds through a town, so why not get out there and join the crowds as they cheer the riders on? We look forward to seeing you there!
