Is it because my singlspeed is not UCI-legal? Or maybe because I had some beer and whisky (just like Floyd it has to be said!) before the race?

But to know where your going you have know where you've come from...
...I don't think excluding past masters from the worlds, or the sport, is necessarily the right way to go.
Like Bjarne Riis for example, he is supposed to be poacher turned gamekeeper right. So give him/them a chance?
