I am not too surprised the Campagnolo wheels came out top. I have been really impressed with the Campag Eurus wheels I bought off Richy V. They roll extremely well compared to my Mavic Ksyrium wheels which are in my opinion pretty poor.

The Neutrons look like excellent value for money and when I have worn out a set of my current wheels, which probably won't be long, I think I may go for a set of those rings.

Anyone know anything about the extremely cheap Campag Khamsin wheels?

Cheers

Short answer: No.
Slightly more rambling answer: The G3 spoking is amazingly strong and I think the Campag wheels are fantastic value for money (any of them excl. Boras as per my why so much carbon rim comments). I have a pair of Ventos which were the previous bottom range, and still only cost about £100 a pair. They are superbly strong and reliable. In 3 years of riding in all conditions, and crashing through all of Surrey's finest roads I only ever had 1 broken spoke. That was considerate enough to wait until I rolled up to the garage before going and still didn't pull the wheel out of true. They have now been relegated to emergency wheels as the rims are worn down, otherwise they are still as good as new. If anyone wants top VFM strong wheels I'd say Ventos, G3 spoking makes cleaning easy too. Not very light but for training/winter wheels they were tops. I wouldn't get Khasmins just because I've had experience of Ventos and they are still cheap.

Andrew, you have to remember that one of my legs probably weighs more than you which is why you don't have too many wheel problems I imagine. Have to agree though Campags are great wheels, they do the Khamsins in Gold, very bling and only £80 for a pair.

I broke a spoke on one of my Neutrons earlier this year. It stayed perfectly true, even with a blade missing. It seems they are light (tick), good value (tick), fast (tick), bombproof (tick) and, in an understated way, rather handsome (tick tickety tick).

Lest anyone think I am some fashion victim who read the Comic and rushed out to buy them, I've had them a couple of years 8) .

I've used my Neutrons as training wheels now I have a decent pair, and used them to transport me back from Geneva with 2 fully loaded paniers and still perfectly true.

I have Eurus on my C50 and Khamsin on my winter bike.
Cannot fault either of them. :D
