Here's Steve Cram (athlete, BBC commentator and one-time CO apologist) on the 'Sports' 'Personality' of the Year:

"Vicky Pendleton was not even short-listed which, after winning three track cycling world titles, is an unwarranted snub for her sport. Instead Andy Murray once more makes an appearance while Jason Robinson, Jonny Wilkinson and Justin Rose all came up short of the big win, making them all outsiders."

And Richard Williams (not to my knowledge a big fan of our sport):

"Pendleton's omission demands BBC boycott

The absence of Victoria Pendleton from the shortlist of nominees for next Sunday's BBC Sports Personality of the Year award forces me to declare a complete lack of interest in the outcome. A bikie boycott might not have much effect on the viewing figures, but it seems the only option."

Both from yesterday's Grauniad. I couldn't agree more.

I wouldn't even call her an athlete Sean, she's just plain stupid. I saw her try to make some half-arsed defense of herself on tv the other day and she just made me laugh.

Then again I guess they'll be no drug testers at the show will there, that could be funny though... see who looks the most worried...
