Club run reports

Postby huw williams » Sun Feb 10, 2008 11:14 am

Please, please, please keep these coming

over 90 out again yesterday plus a few on TT duties, a Majorca club run, and some renegade elements out doing , ahem, 'personal' training rides and loads 'saving' themselves for today's Old Ports thrash. all of which swelled the number to over 100.

Don't be shy about posting your experiences here - its the best way we have of knowing if evertyhing's working, needs tweaking etc on the club run. And its usually a better read than the national press.
The main club run thread is more like a race report these days which is hillarious and inspiring to faster riders but they're a bunch of racers (and comedians and stuntmen if yesterday's reports are anything to go by :D ) and can look after themselves quite happily. So let us know if the groups are right and working for you and if not why not?

And remember - even if if you can 'only' manage the 18s group then you're an inspiration to everyone in the 17s and below - people like Steve B and Kevin need the motivation to move up :D :D :D so keep those reports coming

Ithankyew

For info, my old boss Craig from about 8 years ago recently got into cycling and I managed to persuade him to come out with ACC yesterday for the first time. He has only ever ridden with a group once before on the Ibbo ride.

I left him with the 18mph group led by Mark. He really enjoyed it. He is quite fit, so managed to keep up fine, but said that he has to learn the ettiquete of riding in a group as he felt he was weaving a bit now and then. One thing he did mention though was he was getting lots of words of encouragement and advice from the riders in the group on where he should sit etc. He picked up an application form to join, so you never know may have another rider to swell the ranks.

Cheers
