Leg warmer

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Wed Feb 27, 2008 2:36 pm

Riding in to work yesterday, I got changed and was definitely wearing 2 legwarmers. :D

getting changed back in the evening and only 1 could be found  . Searched high and low, checked lost property - nothing.

The dilemma was - to keep one leg warm??? If so which one?? or neither??

I didn`t realise that leg warmers were right or left leg specific! You ride with one and change halfway

cut it in half and use it as two knee warmers?
pull it over both legs and ride like a fish?
keep your "third leg" extra cosy?

go on tell me you picked a favourite leg and rode home with it on one leg....

I'm getting worried what you're going to turn up at CSS wearing on Saturday now as you appear to be shedding clothes.

Easy one - your commuting route surely includes roundabouts on which your left leg is travelling faster thus more exposed to airflow than the right one, yet it is turning at the same speed so not working harder and getting more warmth from the effort. So left should be the one you pick to cover.

Plus this way you don't risk staining the right legwarmer with chain oil.

I think it's on the DParagon website that I read, of a myth about a hard as nails uk rider who had had to ride a time trial with two same-foot shoes. They thought it was only a myth though

I tried that theory - it's so that you get back as quick as possible to stop the pain - but it didn't work
