new wheelsneeded for winter specialized

Butlers tell me my wheels are worn on the rims and need to be replaced. Any recommendations for inexpensive bombproof replacements?

Not sure how cheap you mean by cheap or how bombproof you want them but Shimano R561's are cheap and durable.

pearsons sell a decent set of hanbuilt winter wheels-ambrosio rims+hubs for £150.00.

I used those all winter & only had a problem when some idiot drove a volkswagen into the back one.

You have that Japanese groupset don't you Alan? Don't think you can enjoy the bombproof qualities of the Campag Khasmin but could get Fulcrum 7s, supposed to be a good winter/training wheel. Or as Dan says the Pearson's Ambrosio handbuilt option is good. I have them on my fixie and the ones I had when I first got a bike (as an adult) - the red Ambrosio - had them. My Dad is still using them about 5 years later.

Buy something completely blingtastic to go on your best bike, and put the wheels from that onto the winter bike.
