Steve B at Ironman Lanzarote?

I was just on http://www.ironmanlive.com to see the results from Saturday, and Steve only seems to have registered a time on the swim - a very impressive 9th out of the water.

Did he drop out on the bike/have a mechanical/bonk outrageously? Anybody have the full story of what happened? Mark?

i hope for his sake he didnt, hes using dave palmers cosmics....could be a heffty bill if theyre damaged!

Unfortunately, I understand Steve got hit with a bout of food poisoning in Lanzarote. He decided to start the Ironman nonetheless and posted a top time for the swim. Unfortunately, he packed during the bike ride - an inevitable consequence of having been throwing up the night before.

This must be proof of Sods law - you don't get ill for months and then go away to do a major event in year season and go sick.

Fortunately, I believe the Comics were unaffected and will be returned to Dave P in good order.
