Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say hello and thanks to everyone I met out this morning. It was a great first run with the club, despite the weather! Everyone is so friendly and I really grew in confidence as the ride progressed. Sorry I didn't say goodbye. I got confused as folk split on a roundabout coming into Coulsdon and ended up a bit lost! I found Smitham Station and went home from there. As I explained to some people, Paul (my OH) is an opera singer and tied up with Saturday rehearsals and tours for long stretches and we have children. Therefore, I won't be out on Saturdays as much as I would like but will come whenever I can and keep an eye out here for what else is on. I just wanted to make sure no-one thought the weather or getting lost had put me off as I won't be around for a few weeks now. Can't wait until the next Saturday I can get out though :)
I hope you all have a lovely Easter
Sarah

Nice to see you out Sarah. Bridget said you rode strongly and have a good base fitness. A bit of a baptism given the cold and wind. On the final approaches to CSS you can usefully ride to the end of the bypass and TLs and double back for Smitham or CS stations or pass onwards for Purley. We often stop in Coulsdon for a further coffee to which you are welcome, then Bridget sometimes takes the train back to Honour Oak.

hopefully rehearsals etc. will allow further outings!

take care

Alan

Welcome aboard. As Alan says a good day to start  (I stayed in the warm  ), all the other runs should be a breeze now :D .

Well, I tried - that's why I waited! But I thought that Bridget would set you on the right way or that you'd arranged to go with her to the cafe to warm up (I expect Nero's were enjoying the sparse Addiscombe patronage that day :D ).

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Thanks Amy, sorry you waited. Shame I couldn't have got a message to anyone. Next time I will probably go for a coffee and then cycle on home to Addiscombe.
Saturday's ride was just what I needed to get my confidence on the road back again. I had a great ride out on my own today and was nice and relaxed again.
Hope to see you soon.

Hi Sarah, tis Marky Mark here.

I rode back most of the way with you and the rest of the pack from Charlwood. I don't know why, but we we all seemed to spit into splinter cells on a mad dash for the enemy (the weather? ).
That was only my 5th ride and we do normally stick together and help each other out. You are a very solid rider and have guts, even though you told me you were scared of the traffic. In truth, the traffic should be scared of us and our multi-coloured lycra!!! also the well manoured Terrets.

And yes, they are a nice group, the agreeable ACC family. Welcome to the family.

Marky Mark

PS can you bring some better weather with you next time lol

Hi Marky Mark
Thanks for the encouragement :D I will do my best to bring better weather next time. We did all splinter at the end but not surprising in that weather! I got cut off by traffic lights changing to red just as I got to them.
I am looking forward to getting out again. I need to learn that route so I can find that cafe on my own :D
