[quote="Andrew G"]Nope, other than the bump lightening the front and causing it to slide out as per my wild and dubious speculation.
Heh, sorry didn't mean to dismiss your speculation, I think its spot on.... however, and I get to the embarrassing bit now - I had a thorough crash investigation last night and think the mystery is solved.
Firstly checking tyre pressures revealed front at 115, rear at 95! no idea how that happened since I'd just carried out my spoke replacement operation and pumped them up. thought they were at 100,110. Checked the alignment whilst at it and very slight wobble in the rear but nothing dramatic, will have to try re-truing that again.
Next the penny dropped and realised this was the first outing experimenting with my new clamp on rack on and loaded up - and I think it's too high on this bike. no idea why I didn't notice or think of that yesterday.
So I guess the tyre pressures were bad, the centre of gravity was moved up, there was a bump in the corner and I took it badly. Pretty predictable outcome really!
So anyway, swapped the tyres over to the Stevlios last night, set the front at 90 and rear at 95. Removed rack. and had a glorious ride in this morning in the sunshine. albeit taking that corner at about 3mph!
Thanks for the comments everyone.
