There's a rattling

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Wed Apr 02, 2008 8:42 am

Nearly got to work and stopped when I heard a strange rattling sound. Checked bike over - one of the nuts on the mudguard stays had worked loose.

Now a dilemma - I had a set of allen keys, but no spanners, what to do?

Then i remembered that I had wrapped some Duct tape around a 5mm allen key (top tip Grahame) and wrapped it around the offending stay - sorted.

Moral of the story - Duct tape, don't leave home without it

During my engineering days I have managed to somehow gather a rather large collection of Allen Keys. If anybody has the odd key missing or needs a spare, let me know what size you need and I'll bring them to the CR. Don't take the mick, I operater a fair useage policy

So you're clever enough to get to work with a roll of duct tape and an allen key but not clever enough to get there with both trainers, wearing your shirt the right way round? :D

You'd better save one or two for Adrian. He'll be needing them - just as soon as he bows to the inevitable and gets a 'Lilla Barn' changing table from Ikea.

Then he will be looking for someone with a VERY small van to transport the tools to him
