Racing Licence, how, where etc

Postby Antloony » Wed May 14, 2008 10:15 pm

Ive finally made up my mind and want to start racing having read the reports of everyone involved antics at the likes of Palace.

Simple question really, easiest way to get a licence. Do I have to go through British Cycling and obtain a silver membership then a licence or can I use my ctc membership or is it worth having a word with my mate knock off Bob who can get passports etc for the right price.

Any help will be gratefully recieved.....except if anyone suggests Im to old and to slow to start now. :D

Cheers

Ant.

Look at the British Cycling Website - http://www.britishcycling.org.uk

From memory you can fill the form out and pay online, they will then send you a licence and you stick your own photo on it. don't forget to sign it first before you put it in the plastic wallet.

I dont' think ours and Keith's took too long - you get a provisional one first and then your 4th cat one appears a bit later after they have checked out your police record, fingerprints, whether you pay your mortgage on time, and get references from your employer and marks out of ten for your sexual prowess.

Actually they just send it out without any checks at all! You'll be awright then Ivor :D

Thanks Michelle, will go take a look at the link you've put up.

PS anyone fancy a quickie (pref females) so I can get a mark out of 10 as her indoors is suffering from Eastenders on BBC3.....or is it a headache...same thing to me.

All filled in and sorted and paid. I clicked on Addiscombe as my main club, will my licence go to our club secretary (who happens to be?) or will it come to my home address.

Confused of Sutton.

Cheers Stu, me thinks I'll be needing all the luck I can obtain.

All I need now is to pop down to GB's and *squeeze myself/fatten myself up into an ACC top and away I go.

*Delete as applicapble depending on what sizes are available.

This racing must be infectious, as I also purchased my licences yesterday.

Depending on how much racing you plan on doing for the rest of the season (including cyclo cross races), and depending on when you plan to do your first road race you might make a saving if you wait a month or so before getting your racing licence. They are half price from about mid-June.
