Sat ride 7/6/08 say hello to Tamar

Decided against the CR. Sam, Ritchie and I taking the Addiscombe colours outside of Surrey, Glorious ride from Crowborough, through Horam, across the Pevensey levels, along the coast to Eastbourne. ice cream on the beach. Up to Beachy Head, wind (the meteorological kind!) absolutely unbelievable - peddling downhill hard and not moving!!, Birlington Gap, 16% climb at East Dean, Wilmington, chalk man, through Laughton and on to Uckfield - train and home by 5.45. Bliss! :D

107 kms - 1068 metres of climb - 3% ave

Anyway, got a great cheer of Add-is-combe!!! from a bike rider coming towards us on the road from Litlington - we're famous even in deepest darkest east sussex!

And had a chat with Mick Irons whom some of the agreeables may know on the top of East Dean Hill. We rode along together for a couple of miles. He was doing a charity ride (on his own!!) to raise money for sailabilty. he says hello to everyone but in particular he asked me to say hello to Tamar. So hello Tamar!!! :D

Anyway, great ride, great day. Averaged 13/14 mph. And don't forget anyone is welcome to come along as an alternative to the CR.
