Okay tech-heads I've loaded the magic watch data in now. It said 3,000 metres of climbing.

Steve - I've linked the route here and from the links you can either view it in Googlemaps or Google Earth.

This is great Andrew. Do you know how to make it "fly" ie start at Pencoed and then follow the route without having to press any arrows or drag the image?

My ridng time was 6:45 against elapsed time of 7:14 so I obviously spent too much time gawping into space at the feed stops.

Bit new to Google Earth but I managed it by saving the route to my saved routes (or whatever it's called) halfway down on the left of the screen. Then highlighted the route, it put it on the map, then clicked on the play button under the routes bit and off it went.

I'm sure someone who's more Google Earth experienced can help more, I think Ivor's pretty good with it - Ivor, where are you?

Brilliant cartography Mr  I'm rubbish at this

It'll take me longer to do a map like that than to do the ride

Magic watch did all the hard work, I just had to plug the watch in to the computer after the ride.
All the data is on Motionbased here. You can look at a profile graph, how fast I went uphill, down dale etc. I'm sure you'll love looking at the numbers :D .

Huw, surely you can use your Garmin whatsit to download your route onto a mapping system, like mapmyride?

Challenge for you techies glued to your computers night and day - the man videoing me and other riders up top of 2nd climb of the Bwlch said the video would appear on something like cycling youtube?? I wasn't really concentrating on him for some reason (as well as thinking what a nutter he was)

You look very worried in the 2nd shot.

I was still fresh enough to do Gladstone Small impressions :D .

The one handed was near the end of the ride, an ice-cream van came passed and I made a poor attempt to try and hitch a lift by grabbing the serving window, bugger was going too fast though.
