Oh Lord, sorry to hear about your accident. Get everything checked out properly and pursue the NHS for physio, cos it costs a lot to do it privately, I should know.

Sorry about the pink bike. You could now go for a more sensible colour though.... ....no, on second thoughts, keep it pink, it makes them talk :D .

Take it easy, don't stress, don't champ at the bit to get better, just let your body take it's time.

Hope to see you on the racing circuit really soon.

The other thing peolple do when the dust settles is change thier mind. Hopefully you have got witness statements etc with the police. I agree with daveD that you should pursue a claim for injury as well. The insurance co WILL give you second hand value only, i would imagine.

The insurers won't just give second hand value (they could also have difficulty justifying the value they place on it as there is no Glasses Guide I'm aware of for bikes), it will depend on the insurer and the people pursuing the claim on your behalf. It may seem a lot for a bike to someone who doesn't cycle but it is comparatively a very small claim for a motor claim even once you factor in any physio costs.

Chloe. That is awful luck. I thought you were so brave to start commuting into London so you really didn't deserve that.

Hope you are feeling better. Make sure you recover properly. Now you get the chance to get a new bike. I hope it all gets sorted quickly and look forward to racing with you soon. :D

Never like to hear of anyone crashing especially on the commute. Haven't had a bad one for a while but this reminds me that no matter how careful you are somethings are out of your control. Sounds like you are back on your feet and good to hear you are keen to get back on the bike. If the driver didn't spot a pink one maybe you need to get something brighter that stands out more next time !

Chloe, when you've recovered OK, if you want a photo of yourself on Pink Dream Machine, I've got one of you on the start line of the ACC v. Norwood Para Sporting 10.

Thanks to everyone for all your message, its been really nice as you can imaging I’ve been feeling a bit low and sore.

The lady whom hit me has taken full responsibility and apparently they are going to do me a full pay out.

So as soon as I can walk straight I will be out there on my new bike ASAP,

My bike is no longer made, So, so far the options are,

I need WSD as I’m only short also I want it girly!! You should all know this by now,

Madone 5.1

Scott Contessa CR1 Pro

http://www.kudubikes.co.uk/shop/102/151/

any other options send them my way,

Hope you get well soon - just too many drivers who 'have a momentary lack of concentration'. Good to hear you're already talking of getting back out on the bike.....and if the new one's going to be pink it's gotta be the Giro special edition Trek:

(hope the link works!). Anyhow see you out on the CR soon. Tim.

Saw a lovely pink ladies bike in Pearsons in Sutton this morning. They sort of do all the frames in all the colours and then build the bike to spec. If the size and colour is not in stock it will take time to come in though. They also do a fetching pink Pearsons cycle top with matching shorts.

But you'd look absolutely rubbish in it, Chris! :D

Hope you're on the mend now, Chloe? The CR needs that splash of pink!!

Of the two you'd mention then the Scott, no question. If you like girly though then how about one of these. German import, Red Bull are really nice bikes, not a chav vodka mixer. The web pics don't really do it justice for the paintwork, the catalogue shows a much nicer big picture :D . They do custom builds too.

When you are feeling better, try to get a test ride on each of the bikes you've found and get the one that you are happiest with.

Bike fit is a personal thing, so forget the reviews/brand reputaions and go with the one that YOU like best.

Hope you get well soon.

By the way, I have a friend looking for "tough girly mountainbikers" to join her and her best friend in making up a team to challenge for overall honours at next years 24 hour races (Mountain Mayhem and Sleepless In The Saddle). Would you be interested?
