Reinventing the wheel

Postby Sylv » Fri Dec 12, 2008 4:12 pm

[quote]The Lezyne Road Drive M doesn't resemble most mini-pumps we're used to, but in this case, that's a very good thing. Instead of the usual right-angle head mounted on one end, the Lezyne pump features a unique removable hose that is conveniently stored within the body. Just remove the hose from one end and screw it on to the other and you're ready to go. The road-specific Road Drive M's hose is presta-only but most others in the Lezyne catalog can be used for Schrader as well.

Have they never seen an old-syle pump?

Obviously not Sylv. They were brilliant, much better than current ones in the way they fitted the valve with the hose allowing you to pump away like mad and the flex taking all the shock.

Next week I hear there is a new type of pedal system due out which enables you to ride flat pedals in normal shoes but with a state of the art foot retention system. I believe it's due to be available in a rapha-sytle retro polished metal finish with leather adjuster strap.

Cleaning the chain on the fixie is an unpleasant old job. Get rid of it, I say! Achieve the same gearing by mounting the pedals directly onto a really big front wheel.
