[quote="Sylv"][quote="Andrew G"]Nice new TT bike, but those wheels on a CR  .

I am disappointed - that disk is near silent when riding - what's the point?

Don't think you can ever hear your own disc wheel much, shame as it is a nice rumble but might get on your nerves a bit in a 50 or 100.

Well, that was bloomin hard work! My first outing in the training group this year, thankfully there were a lot of us so i didn't have to get too near the front ;) With Paul, George and Keith around it was a pretty hot pace from the off. We stuck to the main roads (nice and sensible) and I was struggling to stay in the wheels, often losing half a bike length and having to dig deep to claw it back. Thankfully once i'd warmed up things got a bit more bearable and most of us started doing through and off on the dual-carriageway (though not all of us eh Stu  ).

Almost as soon as we had turned round after Rusper and heading to Charlewood Paul and George started attacking.. Vicious they were  and it really split the group up. I managed to get up to them along with Keith and thought we'd stay if it wasn't for those pesky lights  Approaching the sprint I made sure i positioned myself about 4th wheel, and waited as long as possible. Keith came flying past and I waited to see who would chase. No-one did so i decided to go for it, hammering the pedals i closed the gap, sat in for a quick breather and went again to just take him on the line for my first ever sprint win in the Training A group

To celebrate I had a bacon sarnie, which was soooo gooooood :D

The run to box hill was a little less balls-out and I managed to hang on to Pauls wheel until the first hairpin before blowing up and then taking it easy to the top. Nice steady ride back to Coulsdon.. Great day.

Left home at about 9:15am on Saturday and got to the cafe in just under 2 hours via usual route + the extra bit through Rusper but not the DC, so happy with my time. At the cafe I managed to meet the crowd just as everyone was leaving so I grabbed a bar, a soft drink, and did a quick toilet stop before hoping back on the bike to go with the last group heading home via box hill. Nice to see you all again!

Spent some time talking to a new guy, David, on a boardman bike with disc brakes and flat handlbars - he did well to stick with the group on the way home on his first time out with the club.

Overall a good run home, but had to stop on box hill as one of my over-shoes came loose and so lost my momentum, got dropped just prior to Coulsdon so not too bad. Total time on bike, about 4 hours

Anyway that's enough socialising for the next few months!

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]After a long time away I noticed a disturbing trend on the CR. I spotted 4 at least who had their front wheels back to front with the QR on the right hand side !

This is way more serious than black socks...or white kneewarmers. :P

Sean

You would be surprised how many people I've seen with their QR holding the wheel in the "open" position with the nut on the other side overtightened..

Not in addiscombe though, thats from working in a bike shop :D Customers, eh? who'd have em.
