WATCH THOSE SNOT ROCKETS!!!

According to Stephanie moving up to the faster groups she's noticed that liquid is propelled from noses at a much greater frequency and sometimes without care and consideration to riders behind. On occassions she's almost been dropped because she's trying to avoid somebody's bogey wash arcing back in the wind and landing in her face. Thanks guys :D :D

Good point - the correct protocol is to look over one's shoulder with a finger on the adjascent nasal passage - this alerts a following rider that you're about to have a clear out and helps direct the lugie straight into the floor rather than another rider's face/hair/spokes :?

On the few occasions I tried the aformentioned manouver the snot travelled approximately 6 inches before coming to rest on my own shoulder. Tried it a few more times without success and gave up.

If you flick out your elbow while ducking your head down and to one side, the nose blow can be aimed downwards so avoiding slimy shoulder syndrome.

I heard of one particularly agile guy in the peloton who was able to lube his chain on the go in long dusty stages with that technique :D

I've ridden behind someone who has posted here and thought it was raining. A constant stream of spit and snot. Not nice.
