I've got some feedback - It was savage!
With nobody seemingly up for a 21mph group I thought we were in for a gentle spin with the 19s - until Fallon attacked up the first hill and lifted the pace into the low 20's. Then things went seriously out of shape when Marek's early training group hijacked us at Newdigate and straight away put the hammer down on the little climbs before Rusper. By now the average was approaching 22 and the group had started to fragment. On the dual carriageway there was plenty of 'off' but not much 'through' especially when Marek got on the front for a two-minute turn. He seemed to take it personally when I wouldn't come through - I tend not to when I'm already doing in excess of 30mph on the flat - and nobody else looked too keen. Unbelievably a small group managed to stick together at this pace until the two Robs' pinned back their ears and went for the sprint which Rob F took I think.
After recovery cakes the ride back via Box again saw more attacks than when the germans went through Europe in the 40's and I almost made mine stick after a smartly judged (Basically I cheated by going through lights which were changing and caught everyone else) attack over the hill preceding the A25. Up Box Hill the flying first cat from Carlisle (who looked like a top rider to me) went passed me like I was going backwards and I think the other Rob stuck with him for second. Everyone else came up in varios states of dissaray particularly AJ who since the Etape doesn't consider anything less than a category 2 hill in France a 'climb' so refuses to ride up them quickly. Finally a super high-speed run down Chipstead valley finished with Marek sprinting for his house at over 30mph (again) further dissmembering the chasing group. Great day's riding with some seriously quick intervals - the Club Road Race this saturday should be hottly contested and great fun.

Looks like all roads lead to Hillingdon! where am I going, end of Southall high street, then...??

Marek sorry about Sat morning but thanks for the call, ended up down the gym for three hours instead, much easier with a hangover (having handed my notice in at work Friday :? )

CR sounded amazing, or at least Huw made it sound amazing!
I'm off to go and buy my copy of cycling weekly to give me some more motivation for Saturdays little escapade.
