I have jelly legs today, not slept enough, so decided not to got to Palace tonight or the gym at lunch. Instead will lie down in the sun with my Ipod, before a lunch of lamb, chickpea and apricot tajine with couscous. Hopefully that'll make me fall asleep at my desk and I will not see the afternoon pass.

Jelly legs no excuse for not riding lovely Palace. You will be fine after tasty tagine. I will be taking my own jelly legs to Palace tonight so I expect to see you there Sylv. No excuses. There's not many Palaces left this year (tonight and next week) so make the most of it....it might be raining next week.

I thought tonight was the last one ... people have said the last one was always very fast. I'll think about it over tajine.

I find it a bit rich though to pay £10 to race and not even know your ranking or time afterwards. I guess you have to be in the top ten for that privilege ...

Yeah, it is frustrating not to know how you've done...but it must be a nightmare for organisers to keep track of who's been lapped. (I know, I know, they manage OK at beastway).

Guess you'll just have to pedal harder and get in the top 10. :D

What time does Palace start tonight. As I'm on early shift I might try and make it. To support not race I hasten to add.

Yes Beastway works great, you get individual laptimes for every single person, and Marco helped designed the software. But they have a chicane there to slow down people in a single line and three people taking note of the number plates. That's not applicable to road racing. At least they should give the times of the top ten so you can compare theirs with yours from your computer and see how much faster you'd need to be.

Well, it's quarter past 4, and about time pack up and prepare for the hilly 32 mile ride home. That's what I'll be doing today.
