Great night last night, we had a family outing to see QI being filmed - except due to the tube strike my brother couldn't make it .
For any QI fans out there it's well worth seeing it filmed. I've loved it since it started but there was a part of me that was a bit unsure about watching the filming as you're never sure what you'll get. I was half expecting ages of sitting about with long gaps of nothing while various tele folk faffed about with make-up, set up shots, and did retakes.
Not a bit of it. It was a 2 hour show, and that's a full 2 hour show, no retakes, no stop start, nowt. They started and just kept going all the way through. It was fantastic and they kept the humour and interest going all night, not one flat bit in the whole thing and not a single interruption from the intro to the goodbye. We were lucky with our guests too as they were Rob Brydon, David Mitchell, and Dara O'Brian(sp?) - all funny, no egos, and they bounced off each other really well. I have no idea how the editor's going to cut it down to a half hour show.
