I've never been a heavy user but not good to see one of the little guys give up the ghost. Mind you, I was never sure what they were trying to be though. The assortment of stuff they sold....didn't quite fit together. And no public loo?? Whassat all abaht?

What a shame. I would be surprised if they are closing because of a lack of business per se. They are always busy, even in the week, as far as I can work out. Good food and good coffee. Definitely a loss.

Cafe Nero (another soulless chain), just 75m up the road, may have to be the one.

Add my sadness about Regalino's closure. :( My sort of cafe; pleasant staff, good ambience, good service. Hope they all get well settled elsewhere.

Hope there's no bad rumours about the Lonesome Pine ....

So let me get this straight...

You all really liked it, despite the fact they served diuretic drinks and had nowhere for one to take a leak...?

Is it just me that needs to pee (scuse me) after a strong coffee. Or maybe it helped you to get home quicker.

I've never understood why a place that serves food & drink isn't forced to provide a loo

I sound like Granpaw Simpson

Harsh Snoop. Other than the lack of a loo, Its sad to see a local shop go. As already said, friendly service and always accommodating to the Addiscombe. I cant stand the big chain coffee shops, but I do like the post ride coffee and chin wag.

Sorry Rob, and others. I didn't mean to be harsh about that place in particular. I've used it a few times meself and like you (and as previously stated by me) it's a shame to see a local go by the by. Let's hope as Sean suggests that they got a better offer. In general though I've never got the no loo thing, and I still don't, which is why I asked the question - perhaps it is just me....who doesn't have a stopper on their bladder
