Yes I had a good day at the office and it showed. :P

Good to see you're getting fitter, faster and still loving it, Sean.

A useful sized Training Group of around a dozen made for a lively ride down to the Cafe. Then off to Box Hill before heading back to the cafe at Charlwood :?:  . We somebody needs to chauffeur Michelle home.

Going to hang my wheels up for a week now, to give my body a rest. With a fun morning like today, can't wait to get back on the bike. :D

Was great to have such a large training group and I don't think we lost anyone on the way. Felt like a pretty fast ride and I think on all the sprint points along the way Keith was in fine form. He got the Charlwood sign by a country mile. Stu was on his old Bianchi and the chain kept on jumping all over the place which was a bit off putting, we sent him to the back of the line for being naughty.

Matt Chapman bought one of his mates that he does adventure racing with and he kept up really well.

The ride back to Box Hill was pretty quick all the way to the base and by the time we reached it all the speed was gone from my legs so I spun up slowly as still had a fair few miles to get in. Went back to Charlwood with Keith where he jumped again for the Charlwood sign and got me a again, a bit less in it this time, and then over to Evans to pick up some new sunglasses and then back home to East Grinstead. 140km on the clock and tired legs.

Cheers

Marek....

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]Adrian sorry about losing you soemwhere before we hit Coulsdon, I hope you got back alright.

No problem. Anyway you didn't lose me - I just turned off to go up over Woodcote and head for home that way.

Yep, cracking day out today - I really enjoyed it, particularly the slight variation on the way down to the caff. A gentle pace with the occasional ramp up of speed. Above all, I was pleased not to get my new tyres and bar tape wet :)

I hope the two crashees from the way back (Ryan and Jen?) are OK and didn't have to wait too long to be picked up.

Struggled to get on the old CR on sat. I didn't get to bed till 6.30 saturday morning then got up just over an hour later to shower and get myself sorted for the 6 mile ride to CSS. Thought it wise to have a real easy ride out not having eaten or really slept for way too long so opted for the 18's which included George and the ever getting slimmer, faster and fitter Sean.

Nice ride out really, weather geting brighter as we tootled along, so nice to take it easy once in a while and have the odd chat. Geroge took us on a diversion which was great, missing out the tree lined section towards Rusper on what I thought was a far better road, quieter and more senic. Coming up to the sprint 4 or 5 of us including Owen and Sean had a small gap over the rest. Sean hit the front a bit early, Owen sat on my wheel. I took up the running at the front and waited for the attacks to come and I didn't have to wait to long as Own steamed past me. A few quick turns of the pedals and I was right on his wheel, 5o yards to the line I pulled out off his wheel and blasted myselfto the line winning with a bit to spare. Not sprinted properly for a few weeks after playing lead out man so was nice to stretch the legs. Sean was going well today, really getting some speed in his legs now.

Ride back went well, Steve B was on good form today and riding well, dropping me up towards the church though lack of food and sleep didn't help on my part. Usual re-group then off again, I kept getting stuck behind slower riders as the pace got high and had to chase more than once to keep up only to get dropped again at whats usually a good bit of road for me, the blast under the bridge before the start of the DC back to CSS. Caught up again at the lights with Steve and co only to hit the front and feel my knee go horribly wrong again so eased back, shame really as thought it was on the mend..oh well.

Rest now till the TT on tuesday where the inform Mr  is going to tow me aroud for 10 miles. I planned on shouting abuse at him to go faster and have a laugh but I think I'll be shouting at him through gritted teeth to slow down. Might eat and sleep before it though, got to help a bit.

Cheers :D

This was my 2nd CR in 5 months due to baby duties and I hadn't seen much bike action over the period although managed to ride to work on Thursday (a few beers Thurs eve) and ride home on Friday evening.

Opted for the 17s which turned out to be a big group. Shortly after Reigate Amy got a puncture so I waited and helped her change her tube. After that it was a fairly steady cruise to the cafe.

On the return the pace was quite high (well it felt high to me) but I managed to sit in relatively easily. Was dropped by a few up through the church but glad that there was still a bit fitness available. Up through Merstham it really started to hot up and I managed to stay with the lead group until over the M25 but then the elastic went ping! Once over the top I was joined by a few others and there was a bit of a through and off down to Coulsdon to extract the last bit of energy I had. Nice to see Sean going so well, all that Palace action is clearly paying dividends.

No coffee stop for me and I found out later that it was Regliano's last day which was a pity but I was under orders for a swift return so no Cafe Latte in the sun for me.

I'd almost forgotten how great the CR is, looking forward to my next Saturday fix.

Had a super ride at the back leading a group out with Smiley John. What a pleasent change that makes mixing and helping the newbies and seasoned fun runners.

I have some photos of the bubblie stop on the way home, just need to create some time to get them on here, damn this new role for trying to keep me busy. PS anybody for a Friday ride?
