Specialized helmets also pass the more stringent SNELL tests, which most other helmets don't :!:

Crikey, thats about £85, how did you do that?

Tried one for size then emailed a friend who lives in New Jersey who knows a friend who knows a friend who has some dealings with Giro US and managed to get a good price. $25 for post and packaging, but thought that was a small price to pay for a limited addition helmet. :D
Although it hasnt arrived yet :(

Amy, if you find the Spech doesn't fit your head and stick with a Giro then check out here first as you can get a good deal on sunglasses as well, if you're interested in them. Don't know if you could get prescription lenses in the deal.

Well, I suppose I could always flog them off at more than half price

I'm going to have a look round - I'll look at both male and female helmets (no laughing at the back there...) for fit too; so long as it isn't pink, or purple - white's fine, it goes with everything :D

I found 2 helmets that were comfortable in GB's - MET and Specialised S works, with the latter appearing to be better vented and it has proved to be pretty cool (air sense), and got a good deal too.
