Gap between the 19s and the Training Group

Postby Amy » Sat Sep 19, 2009 6:55 pm

Hi guys,

Now that so many have made it up to the 18s and 19s, how about we reinstate a couple more groups - 20s and 21s - to help people move up from the 19s to the Training Group. The 21s used to be the fastest group when I started riding with the club.

This then might give some in the 18s a chance to move up to the 19s.

Alex P has sometimes called these groups in the past but hadn't found any takers so I thought that if it was highlighted on here there might be some more interest.

Please post below if you are interested in such a group/s :D

I felt the '18s' had a touch of the 20/21s about it yesterday. There's your group, right there ... :D

The B training group used to work well, it allowed people to attack but then the group would always reform at the top of hills or when there was a split.

It is a big jump from the 19's to the training group. I'd just try and get the B training group up and running again, don't bother with a 20's etc. I'd be quite happy to lead it now and again to keep it together.

If numbers permit then there's room for both as they are different types of ride. The B Training Group should be like a boiled down TG but similar in style and not necessarily an even paced ride, a 20s/21s would be a steady even paced ride just at a faster speed. Depends on what the folk want as they may want a more even paced, but faster, ride.

Call both out and then shove the sandbaggers in to the group that suits the way they ride the best  .
