SPRING TRAINING CAMP

Postby John the old'un » Mon Oct 24, 2005 7:41 pm

Hi All,
Is anyone planning a trip before the end of March which would be suitable for someone of my rather sluggish ability. Majorca or ????
Would like to get some early season training in and not lose some of my paid holiday at the same time.

I'm new to the club and would be interested in a spring trip. I don't know the form with these things, and I'm no racer. What sort of distance / pace do you do on these trips? Do you take your own bikes or hire them out there?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Andrew,
Me too, never been on one, so hoping someone who knows the ropes is planning something.

Well I went to Majorca last year and we all took our own bikes, there were quite a few of us so we normally split into 2 or 3 groups of varying pace/distance. Can't speak for the fast guys but the slower group certainly waited for each other on the big hills. I'd only ridden about 4 or 5 club runs after a long winter layoff and didn't have too many problems, although i was knackered by the end of the week. Think about 50ish miles each day. Tamar etc probably did that before breakfast...
