This shiftmate could be what you’re after if you are mixing Campagnolo Ergos and Shimano rear derailleur (A touring practice to give low MTB gearing at the back but hidden cables up front to leave space for a bar bag).

Travelling
Travelling in Europe by Train (Often a better option than flying) – Andrew G’s guide/experience on travelling from London to Riccione(Italy) via Eurostar, night train, and Italia Rail services. Includes the links and info you’ll want on how to find what you want and where to buy it.
As a footnote I went again this year and flew to Bologna and then got an internal Italian train from there. Far easier and cheaper than using the train in the UK to get to Stanstead (to fly to a nearer airport in Italy). I bought the ticket when I got there to save on the commission charge from the UK agent, the best option if you have time and don’t need to pre-book and link up trains. You can still use the sites in the above link to view the timetables before you leave home.
The CTC is a great resource for travel info, bike insurance, and general campaigning for cycling rights. A great organisation to support and join. Being a member will also give you 3rd party insurance which is needed to take part in Club Runs and other ACC cycling activities.
