A Public Thank You to George

Postby Nick W » Thu Feb 18, 2010 5:35 pm

Nightmare. On my first commute since a break in early February I hit a pothole at the A23/Oval junction and punctured/buckled my back wheel on Tuesday, that most miserable of wet days. How I enjoyed changing my tube in the freezing rain. Thank you Lambeth.

I left my bike at work on Tuesday but cycled home last night, albeit taking a chance in no longer having a spare tube on me. Thankfully I was overtaken by one George Brent around Kennington way. Having enjoyed the company, I managed to puncture yet again (this time glass) just heading out of Brixton.

Thank goodness for George's spare tube and, BTW George, you were right about that hissing. When I put some more air in the tube this morning the valve hissing became somewhat vocal and I ended up using a new inner tube.

Anyway, thank you George and a rousing "hurrah" for you and the ACC!

Yours in punturing

Nick
