Well, the girls were out in force this morning, including quite a few newbies. Doesn't matter what the weather does, we always meet same time - it's up the individual whether they come out or not.
It was just a bracing dampness in the air
Quite nice even though it seemed to stick to my glasses and pool there. Soon all dried out though, as observed, it was a little greasy out there on the roads. Hope the guy who fell got cleaned up OK.
As there hadn't been any takers bar me for Phil's rider over Farthing, I decided to take it really easy and take the beginners out as there were quite a few, along with Tim. Much easier to manage when there's at least two of you. Quite a mix of riders with Gina who was a seasoned CTC rider from my old section through to a couple who were just getting the hang of riding a bike and a guy on a rather knackered mountain bike.
Took a slightly shorter route to the cafe by turning left at Parkgate and came over Stan Hill into Charlwood but it was nice pootling along at the back, making sure everyone was OK and giving out the occasional bit of advice. Reduced numbers for the return as a couple decided to return via Box Hill. Again rear marker apart from a good sprint over the Reigate Golf Club to make sure one of the riders made the left turn in case Tim hadn't stopped to wait.
After last weekend's exertions I think it was just what I needed, no real hills and no trying to go fast, just sitting in a mostly high gear taking it easy.
Toks, 'fraid nobody was out to check my butt had got any slimmer but my so-called friend had thought my bum looked big in the ToBM photos
Anyway, I'm only rated as having the third best bum in the club and I'm sure with all the new girls coming in I'll slip down the ratings
Oh well, never mind, it's how I'm built
