As Marco said it's hard to believe this is the end of the series. It has been a great credit to all those invloved in it and to London cycling in general.

Here's the photos,

Man, it felt good to be a mountain biker!

Home at 12, sleep at 1.30

Thanks for coming Marco. I have your impromptu speech on film!

As well as bits of riding the course with Richard, Simon Will and Joel, and some of the prize giving. The files are massive so I will have to put them on a CD.

What an evening.

Very emotional, but in a good way.

I didn't get in 'till after midnight either, and then had no chance of getting to sleep for at least another hour or so.

Beastway was the first "racing" I did after giving up my cross country racing "career" in 1993. Although I was never competitive in the Sylvain/Joel/Rory/Simon style whilst racing there, it reminded me of all that can be good about competitive cycling. There was always a great feeling of cameraderie and inclusiveness on a Wednesday at Eastway. You were never alone on the course for long, and those overtaking or lapping you were almost always supportive and encouraging.

"At Beastway somebody will hear you scream"

Very agreeable. I'll miss it.

Beastway, 1994 to 2006. R.I.P.

Yeah, was a great evening

Marco - I thought your little speech was excellent, and captured the mood perfectly. It was good to hear the well-deserved standing ovation for John and Bill.

Aodan, Elliot and I headed off around 10pm not long after Simon and Sylv has been crowned champions of their categories. Did we miss any crazy late night antics?

I was reading Grahame's post thinking it was Will's - was going to ask you more about your racing past Will !!

We had a few beers (thanks Grahame), some champagne and the chocolatiest cake in the world, helped tidying up and closing time was 10.45.

Marco. Thanks so much for coming.

People have been so used to John and Bill toiling away they took it a bit for granted.

Your speech told people how it really was. They really got the message.

I did a bit of racing at school but lost my way at Uni in the mid nineties.

I came to Beastway first in 2001 just to see what was what. Rory was working with a friend of mine at the time and that is how I got hooked into the Aggreable way.

5 years later, I got my second podium ever.

Your camera pose masks your impressive girth

And "Aodon" gets a mention, although they've got his name wrong! :D
