ACC Open 25 Needs YOU! Bacon 'n Eggs Afterwards YUM!

Postby Snoop Doug » Wed Apr 18, 2007 10:03 pm

BooooiiiiiinnnnnnGGGG! Edited to show latest position - WE NEED MORE HELPERS! A massive thanks to those who have stepped up over the weekend (see below). Those who said maybe at the latest press ganging I've left you off the list for now please PM me with a firm yes or no as soon as you can. Some of the rest of you who belong to, and benefit from the mighty ACC must surely be free for a few hours next Sunday??!! I am both embarrassed and more than slightly miffed that I'm having to resort to begging to get the numbers up.

I will post up location details etc tomorrow - meantime - please get volunteering.

If I may be serious for a moment, we need LOTS more helpers folks to promote our own Open 25 mile TT on April 29th, get on board with Cap'n Snoop & his crew.

Picture the scene, it's like one of them Scrooge ghost scene thingies in da movies....whoooooohhhh.

Dearly Beloved, I stand before you to announce the death of the ACC Open 25 on April 29th. Sadly passed away because of insufficient help. No one came to the funeral....(muffled sound of tears)....

Me pirate ship be understaffed, arrrrr.
The roll of honour is currently:

Jon Tot O Rum Avery
Ian Bosun Munnery
Andrew Hoist The Mainsail Green
Sylv Swab The Decks Garde
Mike Walk The Plank Ingram
Jo First Sea Lady Cushway
Alan Jolly Roger Protasiuk
Sean Chief Gunner Hogan
Jon Ticking Crocodile Hemming
Tamar Admiral Of The Fleet Collis
Scurvy Sea Snoop Dog
Graham First Mate O
Midshipman Lance & His Thong (you know who you are)!!!
Peter Pieces of Eight Kozlowski
Paul Not Ships Biscuits Again Blackburn
Mike Keelhaul Trim

By me reckoning that's a crew of 16. This ship needs at least another dozen mad fools, errr I mean top pirating types afore we set sail. Don't make me get me cat o nine tails out and press gang y'all - jump on board! Ye know ye wants to, arrrr.

The ACC committee has generously agreed to contribute tee the post match brekkie brunch munch so come on yer skinny underfed ones, whaddya waiting for, there be gold (egg yolk) in them thar boats!!

Come on guys and gals, this is ridiculous that a club our size is struggling to get marshals.
70+ every week for the club run, 12 volunteers! Tut, tut.
You get a lot from the club and all it wants in return is a little bit of your time to help run an event.

I'm riding the 25, and have produced a spreadsheet for sorting the results etc, but will defer to help if we can't manage to get enough helpers.

Joining what Huw lovingly refers to as the "dark side" Stu?
Wouldn't have thought you could compete as I think it's marshals we're short of.

If you fancy a TT or 2 though Stu have a crack at an evening 10 which is for club members only (although you'd have to give Palace a miss that week as they are on a Tuesday) as you won't have to worry about pre-entering etc.

If not then you enter an Open event (which is what this event is, promoted by ACC - not just for ACC members) and have to fill in a CTT form and send it off a couple of weeks in advance with your cash (£7). Let me know if that's the case and I'll lend you my CTT handbook so you can see what tickles your fancy.

Sorry Snoop, My son is playing rugby at Twickenham (well the Stoop Harlequins home ground) he is in the RATT cup Final and as Coach it would be rude and sucidal not to GO!

Good luck.

Graham O - thank you and welcome aboard!

Guru Paul - after all you've taught me and others about bike maintenance it would be a travesty were you not to ride this event. Worry not - as your maintenance pupil I'll make it my goal to see that you are competing on the day.

Well after today I now know where we going.
If I remember right I've got Jon Avery and Sylv in my car.
Jon - you don't need to get to me I can pick you up in Croydon if you want.
I'll call you both in the week as I'm not out on the CR next Saturday, unless your going to be at the clubroom on Wednesday.

I can take one other if needed, preferably a Croydon/S. Croydon area pick up but heading out via Coulsdon to the HQ so anywhere along there is easy.

Cheers,

Andrew.

Please see top of this post for the latest position. Race HQ open at 5.45am on Sunday with first rider off at 06.30. We should be sitting down to an ACC subsidised brekkie around 10 ish, leaving you the whole of the rest of the day free.

We have transport available from CSS, Crystal Palace area and S Croydon area. Go on, volunteer - you know you want to!! Arrrrrr.
