Sunday Hilly Ride (prev:Something different this weekend?)

Postby Andrew G » Thu Jun 07, 2007 2:28 pm

Just wondered if anybody fancied doing anything different from a normal CR this Saturday.

I know Jon's doing his farewell "Legs of Steel" but mine might be more balsa wood by the time he'd finished with me on the 20 hills he has planned.

Happy to go hilly, fast, long, or a combo.

Any thoughts? I could come up with a route or two if needed which would go out towards the Westerham area or beyond if needed as these are the roads I know better.

Post if interested, meet would be at CSS at normal time. Would want at least 4 others to make a decent club ride, otherwise I'll do the CR.

Cheers,

Andrew.

I seem to have got tied up with family stuff on Saturday ( but I love 'em really), but need to get a few miles in before the Dragon. So, I'm up for 4 or 5 hours of hilly business on Sunday. I was thinking of doing the usual Ranmore/Coldharbour/Leith/Holmbury/that other b*st*rd/Whitedown/Box circuit, but would be happy to follow-my-leader out to Kent.

This hilly one on Sunday sounds good, meet at CSS? What time's good for you?

Saturday now has hilly crossed off the options. 8)

Will have to pull a few strings, but may be able to squeeze out on Sunday. Would certainly like to - the earlier we get back, the better my chances of being allowed out. What's the plan?

Spooky, that. Similar rules seem to apply at Ingram Towers. CSS for 8.30? A bit earlier?

8.30 would probably be OK for me, but I could go earlier if that suited you and others better. In any case I'll confirm my attendance for definite either later on tonight or tomorrow.

8:30 at CSS sounds okay.

I'd love to join you chaps , but my cunning plan is to do CR on Sat . Then I get an extra days rest for CP on Tuesday

Mike , I emailed you, re your kind offer of a lift for the Dragon ride.

I'll ring you to sort out meeting place/ time etc.

Cheers

Yes, but then you miss out on our scintillating conversation. Are you sure you've thought this one through?

Don't forget you'd also get the tow to and from CSS from the Tooting/Clapham Borders massive :)

Good luck at CP Mr. Apples, I shall be at the evening 10 so the comfort blanket will be missing, fear not it's a small circuit you'll soon find company.

Good opportunity for Dragon ride preparation lads.

Set yourself up like you think you will on the day (same kit/spares/food/ drinks etc) and you have the perfect opportunity to make sure everything will be in place on the 24th (Unless of course it snows which might change a few things)

Just to say that I've got official clearance for this and, if the good Lord's a-willin' and the creeks don't rise, will be at CSS for an 8.30 off.
