Addiscombe CC History In Print

Postby Robert » Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:37 am

The Addiscombe history, complete with illustrations, is now ready for printing. Wire-bound A4 copies with 142 pages would cost about £9 each to produce and Chris Watts needs to have a rough idea of how many members would be interested in purchasing one.

Does this need to be printed?

Can't we just have it on the club website or Digest for all to see.

I would love to buy it.

So that I can see what I have got into as I am a new member this year.
I'd also use it to show my family the mad gang i'm now involved with

Why don't you ask for the orders and money in advance to save on wasted copies!

Definately yes.

Sorry George but in my view having it online would be very naff. This is the documented club history which Chris has put a ton of work in to and is deserving of proper publication. Surely something like this shouldn't be watered down to a digital download (aside from which who's going to read 142 pages off a screen) and robbed of its soul.

Jeez the written word used to be sacrosanct, give me a good "coffee table" book anyday.

I'll have a copy.

I never got round to getting the SCCU history, so I'll have one of those too if they're still available.
