 Sorry Carole but that was wonderfully put. quite a night Mr. H has in store for him.

Yes you were re-voted on the committee at the AGM, nobody else jumped up to do it and you hadn't said you wanted to stop, you should have been told though.

Glad to here you're looking forward to getting back on the bike and competing again, look forward to seeing you in the early hours at some secluded village halls.

Right, rant number 2 over, I'm now off to eat a hot curry, swished down with a pint of Caster Oil, with a Rasberry Tea to follow. I'll then go and turn a my mattress followed by sex and nipple stimulation. And if that doesn't get the baby out then I don't know what will.

lol !!! Have fun, Carole!

PS are there enough women racers for a women's ACC TT league??

[quote="Roy Green"]Amy, what about the glam pic I took of you at the Club Dinner this year?

Ye gods, NO

I'm sure there's some better shots - used to have nice of me sitting on a Welsh reservoir or what about that one of Michelle and me on the ToBM trimmed down?

Come on, Sean, why have you suddenly decided to pick up on this seasonal debate?

To be honest, I don't really mind there not being many female members. Cycling to me has always been a mostly male preserve (though the CTC section I was in had quite a number of women, quite a few of whom were/are also Kingston Phoenix) and I don't have a problem with that.

All we can do is welcome the women who do come along and if they leave, find out why. One reason I've always thought is that it's harder for a woman to have a pasttime of cycling than it is for a man to if their partners are non-cycling. After all how many men in the club are in some sort of relationship with a partner who cycles with them or with a club (either the ACC or another)? Even I've had the 'you're not going out on your bike again' conversation .... with my mother

Snoop, like your post - I'll just join you in the bunker

Carole (when she's not pregnant), Tamar when she comes back from injury, are the regular TTers in Opens and Christine Costiff also does quite a few Opens and picked up the 25 trophy this year.
Three form a team as far as records are concerned although I think some of them are probably pretty quick with some of our fast ladies of the past. In Opens there is normally a Team prize but not a Womens Team prize due to the reduced number of entries from women and normally not a complete team from any one club/team. There are a couple of new womens teams starting this year though and they are looking to push TTing more for women I think so that may develop things or they may put up extra womens prizes in their promotions. There is a chance for things to pick up in women's TTing in the next few years depending on publicity as Julia Shaw is super fast and breaking competition records, and Rebecca Romero is concentrating on TTs now the individual pursuit has been taken off the Olympic schedule to try and win gold in London in the time trial.

PS I popped down to CSS this morning to try and ofload some kit and 3 or the first 5 to turn up were women.
