Eilliot is right. I just checked the two Raleighs in the garage and they both have herons on the headtube. Grahame has clearly been sold a forgery - a lot of heron you buy now has been cut with something.

I have been pondering the origins of an old racing frame my late grandfather gave me when I was about 8. I took the frame to GB's in the late 80's to have it re-sprayed since the original paint-job had faded. I handed the frame over to Butlers and a few days later a guy phoned to say he would love to borrow it for a photo-shoot because he was writing a book about old racing bikes - I said ‘no’ (the 8 yr old within did not relish lending a complete stranger his frame). Of course now I wish I had said yes because the author might have been able to find out more and in hindsight I should have asked for a free copy of his book (if it got published). So, I don't know where my (Grandfathers) bike was made but I would like to. Wondered whether anyone might have any ideas on how I should go about finding out?
