[quote="Roy Green"]I rode my last TT in October 2008

Never say never again Roy. I hope that's "last" meaning "most recent" rather than "final".

Does that count as badgering?

[quote="Toks"]Obviously I'm joking with the 'badger' comment Andrew.

Not digging at you Toks just think Marco's general introduction to racing and assist where there's an interest route might work well. Increase general knowledge and potential enjoyment of what cycling has to offer.

[quote="Toks"][quote="Andrew G"]I don't think you want to badger people at all, even in jest, as of someone doesn't want to race why should they.
Obviously I'm joking with the 'badger' comment Andrew. I've got much more important things to do than haranging grown men and women into racing on their expensive race bikes.

Back in August 2003 I had a conversation with Ajay that went something like this

Ajay: "Hey why don't you come down to Hillingdon and do a 4th cat race"
Me: "er...no I'm not strong enough"
Ajay: "common, I'll meet you there onTuesday night"
I turned up but just chose to watch; it looked a bit scary!
I turned up and lost my bottle at the last minute a further two times before finally giving it a go.

The race itself was great and apart from a very fast last lap and my pathetic sprint attempt for 20th position (no change there  ) it felt a bit like being on the club run :D :D :D :D :D :D

Toks, that is quite inspiring. I tried my first proper race at Hillingdon last September. Looking back I can say I enjoyed it but at the time it was tough, possibly the toughest thing I've ever done on a bike. Perhaps a handicap for age would have helped me - even in sportives I am given a good half hour or more grace over people half my age :D .
So technically the five times that Adam lapped me should only have been three, or perhaps two
I shall probably try again, but in disguise and under a different name, and with longer hills.
