From Richie Porte ITW on Pez

[quote]PEZ: Are there any other guys who you chat to regularly as you roll along?
RP: Yeah, different guys all the time, I guess, but there is one guy who has been making a point of seeking me out, and that is Cadel Evans. I really want to say what a great guy Cadel is. Even with all of the stress he is under, he still goes out of his way to find me and have a chat to me and offer me tips and advice. I really appreciate that coming from him and I really have to say that he is a credit to Australian cycling.

Yes a truly brilliant Giro. Are we ok with an ex doper winning? Personally I'm cool with it :D

ex-attempted doper 8)

Yep, we (Sam and I) can live with it. Nearly all of them were at it - he's done his time. I think we have to draw a line and move on. A worthy winner - whatever we might think to come back after two years and win a grand tour (and a grand tour as tough as this was) is a hell of an achievement.

This is going to be a hard act for the TdF to follow - as always the key to a great race is the extent it's contested. the route, the crowds, the history, etc are all important but unless there's a credible contender to Contador I'm worried it's going to be a race for second place with the battle for the jerseys providing the only excitement.

anyway...let's hope not - roll on July - I can hardly wait!! :D :D

He could have made the final TT a bit more exciting though, by doing a Menchov-esque slide along the road on his bum.

It was an exciting race. Lots of breakaways that stuck, only a few minutes separating the top few, Arroyo getting all his stuff made pink then immediately losing the jeresey, Vino losing.

They could've made the final TT more exciting by making it longer and spraying down the cobbles with water - see whose mechanics are a sharp as Menchov's.
