Marcus: hair gel is not a PED.

PS Did I gather you went to Redhill Raiders on Sunday? My son is in a tent in a field so didn't go.

Wouldn't know Phil, you may have noticed I don't have too much use for hair gel. However it would be a good cover. Who'd think of testing hair at the end of an epic mountain climb :)

Yes first outing to the Raiders with Rhianna (which is why I couldn't come on your run), she absolutely loved it....Don't know if it was such a good idea taking her as she has asked if she could go every week. John was great, I cannot recommend it enough.

If you have a junior cyclist, why not take him / her along Have a look here Redhill Raiders

Thought i recognised you from somewhere, Marcus! I was the competitive dad wobbling about on the green Trek. The sessions are every other week, my little lad loves them too.

Here's a couple of those spanish riders past and present commenting, both saying Valderde has never failed a test etc.

Same old sh*t. I'd prefer to hear, "never taken an illegal substance" to "never tested positive".
There's a difference. One says i'm a clean rider. The other says, i've not been caught.

Whatever happened to "innocent til proven guilty"? Matthew Hopkins would be proud of you lot.

I hear what you're saying but that's not my point. I'm not saying that Valverde is a doper it's just funny how, whenever a rider is questionned, you get a "i've never tested positive response."
I'd want to believe more riders if they said, "i've never used PEDs"

How would people react if on trial for murder, the accused said, "I've never been convicted for murder before?"

Probably because that's what their lawyers tell them to say. If my livelihood was threatened in that way, I'd answer in lawyerese too.
Anyone on trial for anything that brings up past convictions or otherwise would, I am sure, have the remarks struck from the record. but I stand ready to be corrected by any lawyers, barrack-room or otherwise :D

Greg Lemond is USA TODAY:
"But to really change, there needs to be a cleansing from the top down. Just punishing riders won't fix it. The teams, the corporations that sponsor them and the organizations that govern the sport all have to take responsibility. Right now it is a corrupt system."
