Thanks, Andrew, the visor stuff sounds worth a try. If you don't mind getting me some when you stock up. It was what I call sticky rain this morning - doesn't look like much but soaks you anyway.

Yep, last time I looked I was female

Phil, I would've thought you could just look over the top

Got the bike out of the motor this morning thinking "it's showtime yeah clubrun let's have it" held the back wheel up to change gear and the cable snapped.
Didn't have a replacement in the toolbox so game over. :(
Rain was get a little heavier at that point.

Read your post Lee and true I was down but not out.
Anyway got online had a look at what else was going on. Herne Hill ? Hog Hill?

Herne Hill was the sensible option but I wanted the workout so Hog Hill it was.
Not quite there yet with fitness after having a chest infection/cold but stayed with the group for most of the race.
I love it other there and cant wait to get back.

A woman needs a proper bike rider's bottom.

  I read that back in my head and with a northern accent....in the style of Alfred Wainwright. Not sure why.

Should have got over to Hog Hill. The womens race had the biggest turn out.

[quote="Andrew G"] A wasted day and I'd been due to start behind 11 women too which would've been nice.

I reckon he took it easy in the traffic to miss the start, 'cos he was worried he wouldn't have caught any of those fast women ...
