"I never go to a race without my bog roll in my Max Gear holdall" said Nicole Cooke.
High praise indeed.

I tried Jamie's Specialized BG Toupe and . . . well it really wasn't right

So one for the girls is the Specialized BG Jett! Still comes in three sizes, I've used a small and medium. It feels hard, not like sitting on a squidgy old sofa like some saddles. But I found it really comfortable, even on a long ride or off road.

That's because it is a MANS saddle, unless you are lady GaGa then it will probably fit quite well :)

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good clove for conditions like today? Needs to be very warm but not too bulky.

I have poor blood circulation in my hands and despite wearing my ski gloves this morning (more like snowboarding gloves you'd laugh if you'd seen my, I can barely shift gears on my mtb with them on) the tips of my fingers still get chilly at zero degree.

I guess lobster style ones might be an option.

Saddles are a VERY personal thing.

Karen Van Meerbeck (UK national downhill mountainbike champion back in the early-mid 90s) used to use a Flite. She said it just worked for her, but I can't imagine very many women saying the same thing of that saddle.

Pearl Izumi lobsters, as you suggest.

Grahame, I'm disappointed - I saw my typo but didn't edit it as I saw you were on the board. Where have you manners gone?

*Your, surely   :P

Oh, and I thought you might have been wanting recommendations of which garlic to use to ward off the cold.

Either that, or I just didn't see it, and need to resign from the Pedants' Society.

Oops didn't see that one.

Do you own the Pearl Izumi yourself? Can you get me some from the factory next time you swing by?

The best gloves I have found are Sugoi running gloves. I have really bad circulation, but also don't get on well with bulky mitts. I put the running gloves on top of my summer fingerless gloves, and they are so toasty and warm. Rode all through the winter like this last year.

I would recommend taking the cloves along with various other ingredients and making a nice mulled wine.
