[quote="jon avery"]Talking about chains and cassettes, how many miles on average should you get? Mine has just started to slip after 3000 miles, I didn't think that was bad, or is it?

Change the chain regularly and you don't need to change the cassette very often, leave them together and they bed so you need to replace both.

I change the chain on my commuting bike 2-3 times a year, always before winter and always after winter, current veloce cassette has been on for 2 years. Keep an eye out for deals, I got 3 KMC chains for £15 each from Merlin Cycles a little while ago and they do offers from time to time.

Good point. I should have also said that I didn't change chain until 3,000 miles. Then after riding ca 500 miles on a new chain and old cassette I had to change both.

What ever you do do not under any circumstances use the above product unless after 20 miles you want the sound of a hoard of mice coming from your now very dry chain. It's crap...no its worse than that its ......its...

I would say putting milk on your chain would protect it more than this feeble excuse for a lube...lube they call it....it couldn't lube a chain in a month of sundays.

DO YOU HEAR ME MUC OFF....YOUR PRODUCT IS sh1t...

Rant over.

My brother tried dry lube when it came out years ago and gave up on it for just that reason

Think there were some mice out on Sunday...
