this is all so crap! the number one spot to watch the road race and where everyone cycles to at the weekend at they have a tiny little spectator area that you need wristbands for and can't store ur bike anywhere, its like they don't want you to watch it there, ah i just hit the nail on the head!!!!

We could do a mtb ride that day and avoid the closed roads, bring beer/wine and watch on a hill somewhere near Box or Westcott/Dorking.

A fairly long stretch of A25 near Westcott will be shut so best get there early

I'm going to do a mtb recce on sunday am if anyone wants to join me from mine in ashtead, i know a couple of xc back routes to givons grove and mickleham downs and then up white hill to the viewing area on boxhill, and a couple of other tracks on the other side on boxhill looking onto the a25

I solved it by going away on holiday for the test event. I'm also planning to be away for the drug abusers' sports fortnight next year.

Oh, and as a back-up solution, I don't give a damn about it.
