One good thing, Sylv: you missed absolutely vile weather conditions at the ACC Open 25 today (see reports) !
I know you'll recover quickly - best wishes.

Have to say Roy, it makes the pill slightly easier to swallow, reading about all those cold, wet and miserable races and rides .. so does hearing the sound of rain on the conservatory roof during these endless turbo sessions.

Tomorrow it will be 2 months since the op, and all going well another month till I can ride outside. Can't wait to try the new Box Hill :D. Until then I am slowly regaining strength with daily turbo sessions, increasing the power by a couple watts every time. The legs feel ok till now, on the cardio fitness there is some way to go. Another month should hopefully see me able to tag onto the clubrun without dying before half-way (and the weather turn to summery at last ..).

Be good to have you back Sylv. I'll make the most of it at first and beat you up Box Hill for the first 2 weeks of your come back before you get strong enough and leave me behind :D

did you ever sort out your bin for this ? Though not sure where you would get all the ice. You could stick in a fair few bottles of beer as well.

Completed the Alps Etape du Tour at the weekend, from Albertville to la Toussuire, a day short of four months after ACL replacement :D

A tough 152km (plus 45 to and from) with over 4,700m climbing, day started at 5.30am with pouring rain, and ended almost 8h later in over 30c sunshine. Happy!

Thanks to Steve for offering to lend me a compact crankset - couldn't have done it without it!

Made the most of the five days stay in France with another 3,700m climbing and some great rides. Never been round there and the views up to Cormet de Roselend and lake are just breathtaking. Sorry to say the 1h rainstorm before the Etape was the only wet time over in France :)

Soon to come maybe some video footage of a 13min blast down a damp mountain ..

Now i can say i'm a proper cyclist

Dislocated collarbone Friday night, road traffic accident

Other bones / ligaments 100% fine, same for bike, so consider myself "lucky" and happy to be in one single piece

Won't be doing much clapping in the Olympics ..

Any personal experience and advice appreciated
