It is now about 7.00. So looking back I think that I had a great day out.
Thanks to you all for waiting for me, and to Steve for the push at the top of Leith Hill.

Regards - chief heavywight

Yeah he was trying to get me out on that, but I'm after several hours of couch when we get back. See you tomorrow at 10.

Thanks a lot you guys especially Ian and Huw. A great work out, but still a real social ride. In fact, we happily chewed the fat on a broad range of topics: whales in the Thames, Big Brother, very very iffy cyling gear (no names :!) and how to dispose of two egg sandwiches...As Ian mentioned there was a split in the group quite early on mainly caused by out of the saddle 'honking' from the guy on a fixie. Indeed, this pretty much set the tone for the front group and the pace remained quite lively throughout the ride. After Mr fixie had turned off there were at least four guys regularly willing to go up front and set the pace. So 'hats off' must go to impressive efforts from Huw, a supa-dupa strong Graham O, Chris (lovely carbon Look bike!) and of course Kevin (ouch my back, but hey I can still fly up those hills!). I thought I'd try and save some energy for tomorrow - mmm I'll let you know. For those who are interested I left Highbury at 7.50am this morning and returned just before it got dark at 4pm. Are my legs sore? Was there a whale in the town yesterday? take care, dudes

Sounds like a brilliant ride. Not been out much of late what with work and lifes usual fripperies, such as moving flat soon so packing - out to Grove Park and guiness on Friday night.
see you soon

Could go on forever about Saturday, but suffice it to say that I thought it was an absolutely cracking ride. Thanks to Ian for sorting it, and to Huw, Toks, Kevin and one or two others I don't know by name for dragging me up those hills. For some reason I felt very strong on Saturday - my legs perhaps responding to the fantastic weather and the great company. Having survived and enjoyed the experience, the Reliability the next day could hold no fears...

Thanks again - see you all soon

Cheers

Adrian
