Had a great day today chaps. It would be good to make the ride after the caf a regular jaunt. As long as we don't hang around the caf too much and don't let the pace on the way to the hills drop too much, we actually get back to counsden for a reasonable time.

I need to improve on the hills so would like to do this more.

Well done to Paul and Sean Kelly, who rode down into coulsden at quite a strong pace.

If anyone else is up for this, its good fun...

Another bonus. My pasty white skin no has some red bits...

Ta Ta,

Graham.

Well done Toks for organising this and winning the sprint.

Hopefully we will see another good turnout next week.

Sean Kelly is Aodan and he was indeed very bloody quick on our hilly ride back from Charlwood, thanks to him and Paul, Graham and Jim for towing me back, waiting at the top of the climbs and allowing me to do virtually nil work at the front. Caught a nasty virus last weekend (so did eight of my family!) and had been out of action most of this week, but it was good if a bit painful to be back in the saddle. Seen lots of new faces on the way to the caf. Felt really sorry for Grahame, who ripped his shorts at the most embarrassing place just out of Coulsdon and had to turn back ...

When Slyv mentioned a group going back on a route over Box Hill I thought we would be going straight there. It was a bit of a surprise after a few miles to be facing the climb to Coldharbour. I would have taken it a bit easier if I had known. Still it was good fun to be pushed hard all the way back to Coulsdon.

BTW thanks for waiting when my computer jumped of the handlebars, I would have been struggling to catch up again.

Aodan.

If speed is what you need? Sat 6th May: another 90 minutes of, threshold-raising, super-friendly, thru and off style chaingang activity - the ride will be punctuated with a five minute catch ya breath periods every twenty minutes or so. If you're not on a long hilly one - see ya this saturday! :D
