Good ride last night.

Only caught the last quarter of the ride as I was late getting home.

Went very slow to the top of chalk pit hill(not the steep way) and then had to adjust to going a bit faster once I found the group. They looked like they had been working hard I just tagged along for the lift home.

That was a great ride - after several weeks even the guys who used to be the slower climbers have noticeably improved loads.

The Av.speed was over 18 when I got back to S.Croydon (partly due to 32mph chaingang along Featherbed Lane (courtesy of Alan and Phil, a blistering attack on the climb up to Selsdon (me) and a suicidal descent down the last hill (Gavin).

Given the hills and the re-grouping stops that's amazing, well done to everyone for sticking with it over the past few weeks.

Sylv - hope you got back ok after the puncture, we couldn't stop as light was failing us.

Yeah I slashed my rear tire in one of those holes you bunny-hoped on the downhill Huw, so had to boot it with cardboard and ride home under-inflated.
Jeez my legs are stiff today.

Ooooofff! Well Huw said it would be hard. Boy was I impressed. A) with Phil's GPS uppy downy mappy heart beaty box of tricks and B) with the standard. The train left South Croydon and shot off up to Selsdon. I carried the Lanterne Rouge and arrived at the Selsdon lights in time to see the tail end going up over Farleigh Downs Road. "Sod that" thought I, and turned right then pootled off up around Hamsey Green/Warlingham. Back to Wallyville via Purley and Banstead - it was a lovely evening to be out on the bike. Once again - very impressed with les grimpeurs.

Snoop Sore Legs.
